We did add grids on the antenna plus signal splitter/amplifier to improve picture good. One of our TVs has bad digital tuner, so we already had another amplifier that improves that unit's reception and used an android app to verify we were pointing in the right place. Now, every TV the house gets about 50+ channels. Many of them are repeated broadcasts (several NBC affiliates, ...), but we're super pleased.
We obtained a super cheap umbrella stand and placed it on some plywood up your past attic. A straight metal pole your past stand serves as a great mast for that antenna and allowed us to adjust the directional aim for best channel reception (the antenna mount J poles didn't give us enough flexibility of movement as we searched for the best reception) We obtain a lot of wind, UV rays, and snow that made us hesitant to mount this or other plastic antennas outside round the eave.
Really prepared to have free tv augmented with some internet exploding.
