In addition, whilst sacrilegious it may be to mention, several people have tried to imitate Austen's style, writing sequels and prequels of her works. Obviously, this is just for fun and one can't expect these books to be as exquisite as the real thing (or even close for that matter), but I have enjoyed a few.
Sense and Sensibility - I think this is her darkest book, but you'll get a lot out of it. I see many parallels between this book and Becoming Jane. Elinor Dashwood is an exceptional heroine, her strength and resolve is inspiring. For a movie choice, I cast my ballot with Emma Thompson's version. She takes some liberties with the stories, but good ones. She edited parts out with utmost care and added a bit here and there to enhance the audience's understanding of this complex novel.
We have evidence that we only live one time. Once - that's what you're guaranteed. Why not take the chances to be successful? Why not allow others to judge you if you fail?
If you fail, all that happens is that you go work for the aforementioned 40-something in corporate, take your 401(k) that won't make you rich, your 5,000 stock options and a health care plan that won't charge you a penny, in case you're ever in a 30-traffic pile up.
A friend was once texting while behind the wheel of his girlfriend's car. He pulled up to an intersection, glanced quickly up from his phone, looked back down to finish his text, and pulled forward. His distracted brain had failed to notice another driver at the intersection who had the right of way, and the two pulled away from their stop signs at the same time. The result? A ticket, a wrecked car, and a very upset girlfriend!
The most common cause of pile-ups is fog banks at night or during the day. One notorious place for pile-ups is the San Joaquin Valley, Central Valley CA, where the Tule (TWO-LEE) Fog is.
While snow is common during April, the amount the Midwest has received lately is more than usual. Record amounts of snowfall occurred in many places. Chicago's O'Hare Airport had three inches falls which surpasses the mark of 2.3 inches previously recorded on April 11th, 1954. Milwaukee's record snowfall for April 11th was shattered. They received 7 inches of snow and the prior record was 3.2 inches in 1997. Different parts of the Dakotas received 7 inches of snow which is higher than usual during this time of the year. Northern Illinois received 6 inches of snow because of the storm.
He beamed with delight. "Oh, thank you! Thank https://incatalogue.ltd/ . I'm going to go get something to eat!" He literally ran to the doors of the gas station. I batted back the forming tears, choked back the swelling lump in my throat, offered a silent blessing on him and drove on to the dorm.
