Since 1.14 Village and Pillage, Minecraft villages have seen drastic changes. The whole system of trading and the item economy and the tasks that each villager is responsible for has been completely redesigned. This will be a comprehensive guide to managing trades and your villagers. At the end of this you'll have a sense of how to obtain the items you require. Let's begin!

What are the Countless Villager Jobs in Minecraft?

There are currently 15 villager positions in Minecraft. This is a list of the various jobs villagers could get. You can place the job block that matches the job you're looking for next to the Unemployed Villager in case you wish to apply for an employment. The job given to the villager will determine the kind of trades they can offer. You can remove a villager's job block if you do not have a villager unemployed. If you are unable to obtain the desired trades from a villager, you can remove the job block and put it back in place to load their trades.

Grindstone is the main job block

Villager Appearance:

Not only do the tasks of villager change depending on their profession, but their appearance will differ in every biome. They will keep the specific characteristics to their work to ensure that each job is distinct. For instance, all Farmers will have a straw hat and all Librarians will wear glasses.

Trading in stocks

As of 1.14, Mojang has introduced the lovely concept of 'Supply & Demand. This basically means that if you do one specific trade too often it will not only make the villager run out of stock in that specific item however, prices (amount of items or gemstones you have to exchange) will also rise if the item is traded often. Trades can be completed up to four times before the stock runs out. Villagers will replenish their stock once a day. The price of an item can decrease if it isn't traded.

Unlocking Trades:

When a trade occurs between a villager as well as the player, both of them gain experience. When villagers level up to a certain level, the next level of trades are unlocked. Each villager is granted 5 levels of trades that allow for progressively higher quality items. The level of the villager can be displayed by a color-coded badge that is worn on their clothing. It can range from Novice (Stone) and Apprentice (Iron) and Journeyman/Gold), Expert(Emerald) up to Master(Diamond).

Wandering Trader

This is a bit out of the ordinary, but there is a single villager that is different from the other villager. The Wandering Trader is a passive mob, like Villagers in general, but it appears randomly across the world, with no apparent pattern at all. When it does appear it comes with two leashed trading llamas, which are basically normal llamas with a cosmetic change. Another peculiarity about this Villager is its lack of trading levels. This means that any trades you've rolled with him will be yours forever. Be assured, however, that his trades will reset the next time he spawns.

The deals provided by the Wandering Trader are regarded as generally obscure and difficult items to acquire. Although they aren't particularly effective or impressive, they are still valuable. MINECRAFT SERVER LISTS The Wandering Trader will disappear after 40-60 minutes.

Popularity:

You have a certain amount of the popularity of a player. In the event of a negative action, such as attacking villages can reduce your popularity, while trading frequently or curing zombie villager are good ways to boost it. Negative actions increase prices however positive actions reduce them.

Let's suppose that Illagers attack your village without warning. You happen to be in the vicinity and you are able to fend off the attack. You will be rewarded with the 'Hero of The Village" status effect, which will also reduce trade costs (except for trades that cost 1 Emerald).

These are the basics of villager jobs and trading. Now you should be able manage that villager farm with ease! Mojang tends to pull the rug out from under our feet often. Trading is a bit more complicated due to Supply & Demand mechanics and popularity functions. You can use these features to greatly help you, or even ruin the trading economy on your Minecraft server. I hope this guide served you well. Best of luck and I wish you all the best!
