Villager Appearance:

Not only do villager's jobs change based on their profession, but their appearance will be different in each biome. They keep the characteristics specific to their job so that each job is distinct. For instance Farmers all wear a straw hat, and all Librarians have glasses.

Stock trading

As of 1.14, Mojang has introduced the lovely concept of 'Supply & Demand.' This basically means that if you make one specific trade too many times and the villager run out of stock in the item you are trading for and prices (amount of items/emeralds you need to exchange) will also increase if the item is traded for frequently. Trades can be done around 4 times before stock is exhausted. Villagers will restock twice a day. If an item isn't exchanged for any reason, the price will go down.

Unlocking Trades:

Both players and villager gain experience when they trade. When villagers level up they can unlock the next level of trades can be unlocked. Villagers have five levels of trades that allow for gradually higher quality items. The level of the villager can be represented by a color-coded badge that is worn on their clothing. It could range from Novice (Stone) or Apprentice (Iron) and Journeyman/Gold), Expert(Emerald) up to Master(Diamond).

Wandering Trader

This may seem unusual however it is the fact that there is a villager who behaves differently from the others. The Wandering Trader is a passive Mob that appears randomly throughout the globe, and with no pattern. When it does appear it comes with two trading llamas with leashes, which are basically normal llamas with a cosmetic change. Another peculiarity of this Villager is that it has no trading levels, which means the trades you've played with him are the ones that you're stuck with. Don't worry, as his trades will be reset next time he spawns in.

The services offered by the Wandering Trader are regarded as typically obscure, and challenging items to obtain. Not the most impressive or effective, but valuable nevertheless. Be quick, because the Wandering Trader will vanish within 40-60 minutes.

Popularity:

As a player, you have some level of fame. This is reduced by taking negative actions such as attacking villagers however, it is increased by trading often or curing zombie villager. Negative actions increase prices while positive ones reduce them.

Let's say that your village is spontaneously attacked by Illagers when you happen to be in the area, and you are able to fend off the attack. You will be rewarded with the 'Hero of The Village" status effect, which will also reduce trade costs (except for trades that cost 1 Emerald).

Those are the basics of Villager Jobs and trading in villages. Now you'll be able manage that villager farm like a pro! Mojang feels the need to rip the carpet from beneath our feet frequently and, for better or worse, trading in Minecraft is slightly more complicated with Supply & Demand mechanics, along with the popularity function. You can use these features to greatly aid you, or completely make trading a mess on your Minecraft server. I hope you found this guide useful. I wish you the best and success!
