From Fernley to Tonopah we drove an additional 6 hours. It was as bad in Tonopah as it had been in Reno. I felt blessed that we'd traveled thus far without incident. Heather and I had formed a routine of communication. When lights would appear in the distance, she would call out "Snowplow" which meant to slow to a crawl because we'd soon be in a white-out as they drove by, blinding us with the offspray of snow. I'd give her a heads-up on cars coming up from behind so she wouldn't think I'd dozed if she heard repetitive thumping sounds from shoulder grooves when I'd scoot over to allow for passers. I wouldn't go so far as to say we were getting good at this, but we'd quickly come up with survival skills. It was a team effort.

Yet another easily accessible shore dive, the traffic pile is as it sounds, a pile of cars dropped atop a healthy reef. Dive down about 60-90 feet and find and take the opportunity to pose with your favorite models of cars from the 1960's. Even though the current is light in this area, this dive is recommended for advanced divers only due to the depth of the dive site.

The state work crews had placed signs out on I-35 at about the Hydraulic exit in the south part of the city warning of this accident. The state work crews had trucks out directing people to move over to the right hand lane to make an exit along any of the three exits from Harry to Kellogg.

This is a strange one to explain. We don't have anything that resembles sleds around here. We have cheered for folks going down their big hills using their dish pans, trash can lids, old road signs, and parts of a still. http://sanxuatsoda.ltd/ is a lot of these competitors don't realize you can't sled unless there is snow. It doesn't work on dry blacktop. That's ok, EMS is on call every other day, they get there eventually.

In the other direction there was no traffic at all. Logic dictated that there must have been a bad accident there which had closed down the highway altogether in that direction. A few minutes later and we watched a snow plow make a path for the ambulance on the Reno-bound side of the highway. Whoever had been hurt was now headed for the hospital. We were grateful for that. More calls home.

Have you ever got the strong hunch to call somebody? I remember one instance in particular. I got the hunch to call my maternal grandmother on a Friday. I was rather busy and decided to wait until Monday when I would have more time to talk. She died on Saturday. I always regretted that I did not follow through on that hunch.

Ever since that night in 1984, I have done channeling in a variety of ways. I've done automatic writing with either pen and paper or computer screen and keyboard. I have allowed spirits and angels to talk through me as I often can hear the word a split second before it appears on paper.
