NEW YORK - Sept. 8 2022 /PRNewswire/- Today the Israel Ministry of Tourism has announced record-breaking figures of visitors from the United States who visited Israel in July and August. The country welcomed 78,000 tourists from the United States in July 2022 which is an increase of 4% from 2019, and 71,000 total travelers from the United States in August 2022 which is an increase of 13% from the year before.

Eyal Carlin from North America was the Tourism Commissioner. "The United States remains our biggest market for tourism to Israel. Before the COVID-19 outbreak there was a record-breaking number of tourism numbers each month. We are delighted to witness this change and expect an upward trend that will continue for months and even years.

Canada is home to 7,200 tourists in July 2022 and 6,000 in August isn't far behind the United States.

Gal Hana (Consul and Director for Canada, Israel Ministry of Tourism) declared that "it is thrilling to observe how Canada's travel to Israel is booming." "We are getting close to our record-setting numbers in 2019. We expect that this increase will continue to grow as Canadians visit more countries.



In 2019, Israel welcomed more than 4.6 million tourists from around the world 969,600 of whom came from the United States, and since its official reopening for everyone regardless of their vaccination status in May this year, the country has already witnessed over 600,400 US visitors.
