Add embellishments by means of clip art. Be sure the clip art is relevant to the poem or story. Clip art may be part of some of the above mentioned software programs. Clip art is also available online to download free of charge. I use my favorite search engine (Google or Yahoo, for example). Search for "free clip art", "free Halloween clip art", etc. I download and categorize any clip art I like into files on my computer for later use.

Our ego identifies with uni-cycles and semis. If we drive a uni-cycle were thought to be coordinated, slim, slender, maybe even kinda nerdy. SO our Ego "thinks," but when we are in the seat grinding through eighteen gears with a 60,000lb load on the lowboy trailer, we are "king of the Road," "lookout for me," "I've got power under this hood," the list goes on for both the uni-cycle and the semi but you get the point.











Tip number two is to choose something that will help the child build abilities or skills that aid them, when they grow up, in their academics. Remember that a child will be at his or her best when he or she is open to letters, numbers and sounds at a young age.

But I got over my snit. As I went to exhibit after exhibit and got to know some of the staff, I gained a new respect for what they were trying to do. I have never had any problems appreciating the beauty of Asian art and culture. Although I feel that it was better displayed in the old location, with the windows overlooking the park, I always find a new treasure at every visit to learn about, enjoy (and covet!). Their publications are marvels of Book design and elegant writing. The cafe serves delicious food and their programs are an enjoyable mix of outreach to the younger crowd with plenty of more intellectual lectures for us "older folk." I even like the redo of the balcony where the Piazzoni murals used to be!

We still hit bumps in the road from time to time. He is still having some trouble accepting that he is growing older and mom isn't always going to come to the rescue. It is hard for me to let go and realize he's growing up. My goal is to raise a boy who will become a responsible, respectful teen, and ultimately a caring, self-reliant man. We'll get there eventually. One day at a time.
